Weekly Wrap-Up: Undecided Reader

What's New:
I'm having some trouble deciding what to read next because I have a huge pile of books I want to read this summer and I know I won't have time to get to all of them. For now I am just picking up books until I can find one that pulls me in enough to get me to commit.

Reading Update:
Since my last wrap-up I have finished The Raven King (review below) which I really enjoyed. I thought it was a really solid conclusion to the series, but I'm so sad to see this series end. I also read Diane di Prima's Memoirs of a Beatnik which I have lots to say about. This is such an interesting look at the sexism in the movement and the literary world in general just with the history of why it was written the way it was. I know a lot of people hate the Beats, but I find them really interesting and quite brilliant.

  1. It's hard when your TBR pile is huge.... I try to go chronologically and try to make sure I read everything I actually request, but... when time's flying by and limited I do sometimes also have to make a decision re what I might not enjoy and put it aside!

  2. I've been meaning to read The Miniaturist for a while now. It's been popping up everywhere. Glad you enjoyed The Raven King. I've only read the first book in that series. I think I am waiting for the hype to die down before I picked up the others.

  4. I never really had much interest in reading The Raven Cycle books, but I've seen so many people talking about the series lately I'm really thinking of giving it a go. I love the cover for The Miniaturist.

Hope you have a great week!

  5. I always get a little restless when it comes to books around this time of year. I blame the heat and just everyone being off schedule because school is out. Hopefully you'll find something that will draw you in soon. The Miniaturist is on my TBR. It looks really good. Have a great week!

  6. I know what you mean about your TBR pile. With all of my NetGalley books, I don't know where to start. Might as well just pick one, any one! Happy reading!

    1. Yes, that's the strategy of the moment, pick something and read a few pages and see if it catches my attention.
