Women Writers

I'm making an effort to read more modern classics and classics by women authors, so I made a list of women I would like to read more from, and women I would like to read for the first time.

Women I want to read more from:
Jane Austen
Kate Chopin
Emily Dickinson
Edith Wharton
Virginia Woolf
Joyce Carol Oats
Sylvia Plath

Women I want to read for the first time:
Louisa May Alcott
Margaret Atwood
Anne Bradstreet
Anne Bronte
Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Fanny Burney
Willa Cather
Charlotte Perkins Gilman
Zora Neal Hurston
Dorthy Parker
Anne Sexton
Mary Shelley
Alice Walker
Maya Angelou
Toni Morrison
Shirley Jackson
Alice Munro
Zadie Smith
Elizabeth Gaskell
Donna Tart
Elizabeth Bowen

Anyone I should add?

    1. I'm eager to read Anne since she is the least talked about Bronte sister!

  2. I'm rather ashamed to admit I haven't read any Virginia Woolf or Sylvia Plath, but I intend to - I'm eager to read some Charlotte Perkins Gilman, too! :) I can confirm, however, that Anne Bronte, Louisa May Alcott, Mary Shelley, Elizabeth Gaskell and Shirley Jackson are fantastic. :D

    1. Woolf and Plath are really great, I highly recommend Plath's poetry.
I have been eager to read Shirley Jackson for a while now, but haven't gotten around to her yet, I would like to start with We Have Always Lived in the Castle.
