Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books on My Spring TBR

Spring is here! I'm so happy that the weather is warming up. The sun-shine and open windows have made me want to read and make art all day- and that's exactly what I would be doing if I didn't have eight more weeks of school left. But I've complied a list of the ten books I really want to read this Spring. Let me know what's on your Spring TBR, and what you are doing with the nice weather. (Hopefully you have some).

P.S. It's totally supossed to snow again later this week, but I am just ignoring this fact in hopes that it will go away.

1. And Then There Were None, Agatha Christie
I've been staring longingly at this one since I bought it- I've been craving some classic murder lately.

2. The Sin Eater's Daughter, Melinda Salisbury
I pre-ordered this one on my Nook for really cheap and the premise sounds really interesting. I'm thinking this one will be a quick and entertaining read.

3. The Winner's Crime, Marie Rutkoski
I really enjoyed the first book in this series so I'm eager to get to the sequel. These covers are beyond amazing- and I can't wait to see where Kestrel's character development goes. Actually, I'm thinking I might reread the first one before reading this one too- so add that one to this list too please.

4. Ghosts of Heaven, Marcus Sedgwick
I love Sedgwick and I haven't read his newest book yet, and that needs to change! This one sounds like it has a really interesting form, just like Midwinterblood, so of course I'm excited!

5. The Blood of Olympus, Rick Riordan
I can't believe I haven't read this one yet! I just keep forgetting about it- so I'm pushing it to the front so I can finish this series.

6. The Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger
This is one of the rereads off of my 2015 Rereads and Classics List. I'm in the perfect mood to read about and share Holden's angst-y view of the world.

7. Ask the Passangers, A.S. King
I really enjoyed Everybody Sees the Ants by King and this one has been sitting on my Nook for a while. I'm thinking this one will go pretty quick, and I really enjoy King's writing.

8. White Crow, Marcus Sedgwick
Another Sedgwick I own but have yet to read. Have I mentioned I love his writing yet?

9. The Raven Boys, Maggie Stiefvater
I have been meaning to read this one for ages! Now is the time- it will happen soon.

10. All of the Poetry!!
I have been in the biggest poetry mood lately, so I want to read all of the poetry on Earth! I have a few collections and some poets that I really want to check out, and of course I plan to write about them all.

  2. I love poetry! Look up Modern Korean Poetry by Jaihiun Kim, specifically the poem Azaleas by Kim Sowol. What kind of poetry are you interested in?

    1. Thanks for the recommendation Savannah! I usually read classic poetry, but that's because I don't even know where to start with modern poetry! I love Millay, Plath, Emerson, and Parker, to name a few.
      Thanks for stopping by!

  3. A hundred thousand fist pumps for And Then There Were None! That is seriously one of my all-time favorite books. ♥ The Raven Boys is fantastic too -- and isn't that Marcus Sedgwick cover gorgeous? Great list!

    1. Yay! so glad to hear all of this Christie love!! I'm excited for The Raven Boys, I need to get caught up with that series ASAP, and yes, love the Sedgwick cover- though it makes it impossible for me to remember the title of the book- I keep wanting to call it Stairway to Heaven.
      Thanks for stopping by!

  4. AH! I'm the same with The Blood of Olympus! I have read every book in that series the day it comes out but I think I was scared with the final book so I just kept putting it off and it still isn't read :(

The Winner's Crime was just as intense and amazing as Curse so I just know you'll love it! And the ending :|

I've been wanting to read Ask The Passengers (or any A.S King book really) for a while now.

Great list Mallory and thanks for stopping by Swept Away By Books :)

    1. I'm really eager to read more King, she is great at magical realism. I have heard that Riordan's final book is kind of anti-climatic so that is one of the reasons I have been putting it off.
      Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Oh the raven boys sounds good, and the sin eaters daughter.

  6. Great list! I've been wanting to read Raven Boys as well. The Catcher in the Rye is great. I wasn't a big fan of And Then There Were None and I wasn't too happy with how Heroes of Olympus ended. Good luck with your TBR!

  7. I have not gotten that far along in that Riordan series, but I'll catch up at some point. I understand he has a new book coming out in the fall with Norse gods - can you say Thor and Loki? LOL

I love AND THEN THERE WERE NONE, but if it doesn't suit you (and it doesn't some), try MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS or DEATH ON THE NILE. Both wonderful!

    1. Yes! I'm looking forward to his new series, I think his book are a lot of fun! I own Murder on the Orient Express as well, and plan to get to it soon! Thanks for the Christie recommendations!

  8. The Raven Boys!!! I just started reading the series in January, but I'm hooked now. Blue Lily is on my Spring list :) Ask the Passengers wasn't my favorite A.S. King book (that was Vera Dietz or maybe Glory O'Brien), but it's still a powerful book.

I'm in PA and really hoping that we don't get any more snow (we will though).

  9. Great list - The Raven Boys and The Sin Eater's Daughter made my list, too! I haven't read any A. S. King yet, but I really like the look of Ask the Passengers. And if you're in the mood for poetry I read a fantastic collection by Jemma L. King last year called The Undressed. :)

    2. It only came out last year, and it's such a brilliant collection. :)

  10. Great list . . . except for maybe Catcher in the Rye. I read that for the first time last year and was not a fan. I think that one is a bit overrated.

    1. I think it depends partly on when you read it for the first time. I read it in high school and totally connected to Holden's angsty and over the top dislike of everyone around him.
      Thanks for stopping by!

  11. I've read Ask the Passengers and it was good. I really liked A.S. King's writing, and it made me want to read some of her other stuff too. I actually started reading The Raven Boys, but didn't finish it. I don't know why, because I was really liking it.

  15. I absolutely ADORE A.S. King! I actually had the pleasure of meeting her once, and after talking with her for a while, she said she'd put my friends and I in the acknowledgments of her next book and tweeted about it...Hopefully it will happen! I also just saw you're currently reading I'll Give You the Sun...I LOVED that book :)
