Alright Bob Dylan ;D Love him. I recall the first-half of Chronicles being good, then he gets a little vague later on, but I'd say he has the right to keep some stuff private and remain mysterious.
Cold Mountain, Memoirs of a Geisha, and Juliet Immortal are also on my TBR. Here's to getting to them, someday!
Cold Mountain was on my TBR pile for years, before I finally admitted that I wasn't going to read it. I don't know why, I loved the movie, but every time I went to pick up the book, I just couldn't do it. The past year I've really culled my physical TBR (which is still huge), but I've only kept books I'm almost 95% sure I want to read... but now I kind of want to re-add Cold Mountain! lol
If I had to pick my favorite from your list, I would definitely go with Memoirs of a Geisha. It caused quite a stir when it came out, and I think that's what makes the story so intriguing.
Atonement was one of those 'wow!' Books for me. But Cold mountain was a dnf.
ReplyDeleteGood luck.
PS. Narnia is always a good choice, esp the first few books in the series.
I have heard many mixed feelings about Cold Mountain. Glad to hear you enjoyed Narnia!

The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender is such a unique, strange book! I hope you get to these soon.
ReplyDeleteI really need to pick it up because I love magical realism!

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the movie yet actually so I don't know much about the plot. I always go back-and-forth on TBR books too!
