Weekly Wrap-Up: Can July Just Slow Down Please?

What's New:
I made some updates to the blog! I figured it was time for a little change, and while I am still working on some things, I'm not sure how I feel about the change. Maybe it will grow on me; I'm a creature of habit and change can be a little hard going. Other than that not much is new. I am currently rewatching Bridget Jones' Diary and cracking up at it as always. We all know my love for Collin Firth so I won't state it again, but this book is so funny too. Highly recommend.

Reading Update:
Still working on The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. I am really loving it, as the mystery just keeps getting deeper. I also picked up a collection of Poe stories illustrated by Gris Grimly, which I will have a mini-review up about on Monday.

What I Bought:
Only a few things this week that I squeezed into my mom's Bookoutlet order at the last minute. Yay for book shopping moms!
A Study in Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, illustrated by Gris Grimly

Defiance by C.J. Redwine

What I Posted:
Monday- I started the week off with a Theme Spotlight on Self-Discovery.
Tuesday- I listed Top Ten Hyped Books I Haven't Read
Wednesday- I did the Cinderella Tag, which was a lot of fun.
Thursday- I posted my second Tale as Old as Time on Children's Books

Last Week's Wrap-Up

What's Next:
I'm thinking a mini review post, and then I'm thinking about dipping into my huge list of post ideas I have been compiling over the last week or so.

  5. I'm with you... July needs to seriously slow down. June and July have been the worst two months for me so far (time-wise).

I loved Bridget Jones. I remember reading the book a VERY long time ago and actually laughing out loud. I think it was much better than the movie. Well except for the whole Colin Firth thing....

I still remember him saying that he was 'playing a character in a movie, based on a character in a book, which was based on a character in a TV series, based on a character in a book). Or something!

    1. I agree! The book is much funnier than the movie! The ending is one of the funniest scenes I have ever read. And yes, Colin Firth is the best part of that movie.

  8. Did you ever read FINDING COLIN FIRTH by Melissa Senate? There's no CF in the story but a lot of people are crazy looking for him. My friend Melissa wrote it and the MERYL STREEP BOOK CLUB.
I thik CF's career was probably made with the P & P and Bridget Jones' -- he played another riff on it last year in THE MAGIC IN THE MOONLIGHT.

I've been trying to make some changes to my blog too, like you I am a creature of habit but I feel it is time for a little change!

Love Colin Firth, to me he will always be Mr Darcy!!
