Mid-Year Reading Check In

The end of June marks the half way point for the year, which is crazy!! In January I made a list of classics I wanted to read and a list of books I wanted to reread (which you can see here.) I thought I would update my progress and remind myself of the books I need to read and reread yet this year.

Rereads:
I have reread three out of the six books I was hoping to reread this year, so I'm right on track. I reread Deenie by Judy Blume, Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, (in graphic novel form) and The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.

Left on my list to reread is The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, Rules of Civility by Amor Towels, and An Abundance of Kathrines by John Green.

Classics:
I have read two of the five classics I wanted to read this year, so I'm not doing to bad there either. I have read A Room of One's Own by Virginia Woolf (thoughts part one and part two) and The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.

Left on my list is On the Road by Jack Kerouac, which I plan to read this month, Jane Eyre by Charolette Bronte, and Persuasion by Jane Austen.

I have read a total of fifty-nine books so far this year, six of which were graphic novels, and three of which were novellas. The second half of the year I would like to focus more on classics, since I read a lot of Young Adult the first half of this year.

How are you doing with your reading? Let me know!

  1. 59 books? That's amazing! :o The one classic I'm determined to read this year is The Count of Monte Cristo - I haven't gotten round to it yet but hopefully I will soon. :)

    1. I know, I can't believe how much reading I have gotten done so far this year, but taking three lit classes last semester helped me out a bit.
The Count of Monte Cristo is quite the undertaking, good luck!
