Ahh! a new semester starts Monday, and I'm so not ready to get back in the swing of things. I enjoyed my month of leisurely reading and sleeping in way too much! I've been writing posts like crazy so I won't have to worry about posting the first couple weeks of the semester, and I feel so prepared and on top of it! But here's what I bought, posted about, and bookmarked on the blogosphere this week!
What I Bought:
I made a bookoutlet purchase this week, that I'm really happy with. I've been in the mood for some adult historical fiction novels- so I stocked up on some that are on my Goodreads TBR. I also found two books by two authors that made my list of Favorite New to Me Authors of 2014 that are hard to find in bookstores- and the prices were so great!
City of Women, Daivd R. Gillham-- This one takes place during WWII- Berlin has become a city full of women when the men have all shipped out to the war-front. Our main character's husband is off fighting in the war, while she stays in Berlin with her Jewish Lover. This one sounds full of drama and emotion- which I'm always up for in historical fiction.
The American Heiress, Daisy Goodwin-- I'm not real sure on the details of this one, but I know it takes place in the 1920's and has received lots of great ratings. The cover blurb compares it to Downton Abbey, so I'm in.
The Age of Desire, Jennie Fields-- This book is about Edith Wharton, the author, and one of her love affairs. I love reading books that contain literary figures as characters so this one should be great.
In the Path of Falling Objects, Andrew Smith-- This is one of Smith's earlier works and it sounds pretty intense. I think it involves brothers and a very scary road trip. I love Smith's works so I will be picking them up regardless of what they are about.
White Crow, Marcus Sedgwick-- Again, I have no clue what this is about, but I think that's the best way to read Sedgwick's works. They are always a little surprising and intense and I love to go into them completely blind.
What Happened This Week:
Monday- Was my December Wrap-Up (I was surprised by how much posting I did this month!)
Tuesday- Of course was Top Ten Tuesday. This week was 2015 Debuts I'm Excited About. This is going to be a great year for reading!
Wednesday- I did my second Just Added post in which I showcase the last three books I've added to my Goodreads TBR.
Thursday- This was my favorite post of the week. I did a Literary Look on The Lost Generation. I love this movement and had so much I wanted to put in this post.
Friday- I talked about two movies and two mini-series inspired by literature that I really want to see.

What I Saved This Week:
I saved a couple of posts this week that I really enjoyed.
Jess @ Curiouser and Curiouser had some great thoughts on Diversity and Whitewashing in YA.
Shannon @ It Starts At Midnight put together a very well organized list of 2015 Debuts.
What's Coming up Next:
I've got next week all scheduled to go up so I can concentrate on my first week of a new semester- so for once I actually know what's coming up! I've got two reviews planned for YA books I really enjoyed (both have great female main characters!) I'll be posting a Top Ten Tuesday and a Waiting on Wednesday- as well a fun bookish post on Thursday.
How was your week? Leave me your link so I can check out what you bought and add to my never ending TBR!
